Website redesign

Small business website redesign. Keep what works.

Your work has moved on. Your website should show it. We redesign small business websites around the services you offer now, the work you want to show and the questions customers ask before getting in touch. We handle the words, original design and build, with your existing pages, domain and email considered before anything moves.

Start with a free homepage design, emailed to you with no obligation to buy. A full website is a separate decision. Your redesign brings the writing, original design and build together for up to 25 agreed pages. We confirm what needs replacing, keeping or moving before you order. See the full scope and service terms.

A better website should make the business easier to choose.

Keep the name people know. Keep the useful work. Then look at the questions a new customer has to answer before getting in touch. That is where a redesign can earn its place.

Highland Landscaping’s guide-price page, separating types of garden work and explaining what can change the quote
Highland Landscaping, a website we designed. Explore the full design study.

Follow a garden owner’s next few questions.

Highland is a useful example because the pages give different kinds of work room to breathe. Someone looking for regular garden care doesn’t have to work through a complete garden-design pitch first.

  1. “Is this the right service?”

The garden-care page explains the ongoing work separately from garden design, planting and paving. On your replacement site, we would organise the services around the jobs you want people to ask about.

Read the garden-care page in a new tab
  2. “What affects the cost?”

The price page explains its starting figures and the details that change a quote. Your business may need guide prices, a fixed package or an explanation of how you quote. We agree what is useful and accurate for your service.

Look through the price explanation in a new tab
  3. “How do I describe my job?”

The contact page helps a visitor put the service, location and project into words. You can try it: it prepares a draft to copy or save; nothing is sent. For your website, we agree the enquiry destination and check the working route before launch.

What would that change on your site?

Perhaps your best work is buried in social posts, three very different services share one paragraph, or customers keep asking a question the website should answer. Those are useful starting points. We can reshape the pages and copy around them while keeping the business recognisable.

For a different kind of business, look at Asylum’s restaurant design: its menu, atmosphere and group dining need a very different treatment. Your redesign should suit the people choosing you.

Full scope & offer terms

Which pages matter?

Bring the current website link and tell us which services, projects or information customers use. We agree the new page plan and consider useful old addresses before launch.

Who controls the domain and email?

Tell us how they are managed, without sending passwords. We review the arrangements before proposing connection changes. Your domain and existing email remain under your control.

What is connected to the site?

Flag forms, bookings, shops, memberships or customer accounts. They may rely on services beyond the pages. We establish what needs to stay, move or be replaced before agreeing the work.

Complex migrations, ecommerce and integrations may need a separate scope and quote. Optional hosting is arranged separately at launch. Talk through your current setup before ordering.

Start with evidence

What is the current site already doing?

Before changing a design, list the pages, links and contact routes people use. Ask which services need more explanation, which questions are unanswered, and which pages contain information worth preserving.

Search Console or analytics can help show which pages people already find. If you don’t have that data, we can still work through the existing content and identify what’s useful. That gives the new design something solid to build on.

Three decisions

Keep, improve or redirect each old page.

Not every old page should survive. Equally, a page that is useful to customers should not vanish just because the new design looks cleaner without it.

KEEP

Preserve what answers a real question.

Services, locations, work examples and practical information can all have value. Keep the useful substance and improve how it is presented.

IMPROVE

Rewrite what causes uncertainty.

If a visitor cannot tell what you do, who it is for or how to enquire, clearer page structure and copy may do more than a new colour palette.

MOVE

Plan changed addresses.

When an old URL is replaced, agree its most relevant new destination. Avoid sending every retired page to the homepage.

Google advises mapping old URLs to relevant new pages and using permanent server-side redirects when URLs change. Search visibility can fluctuate during a move; no agency can guarantee rankings. Read Google's site-move guidance.

What needs to change on your website?

Send us the current link and tell us what bothers you. The right answer depends on whether the problem is a few awkward pages, the whole presentation or the software underneath it.

A new website for enquiries

If the business has moved on and the whole site feels behind, we can plan a replacement around your services, work and enquiry route. The agreed pages, copy, design and build belong in one clear scope.

A few changes to the site you have

A new opening paragraph, current photographs or a clearer contact link may be enough. Your existing provider may be best placed to make those changes. UpOnUp builds replacement websites; we don’t take over maintenance of someone else’s code.

A shop, account area or connected system

Products, customer records, memberships and booking systems need their own migration plan. Tell us what is connected before ordering, so we can establish the requirements and whether we can help.

How we approach it

Review the new website before launch.

The first version gives you something real to look through: the page structure, the words and the design together. You can tell us what needs refining before you approve the launch.

  1. 1
    Understand the existing site.

Share your current URL, the pages that matter, your goals and any domain or email constraints. We agree a page plan of up to 25 pages.

  2. 2
    See the new direction.

Within 48 hours after your deposit and confirmation of the necessary business details, we show a first reviewable version.

  3. 3
    Refine and verify.

The build includes 2 consolidated refinement rounds. You check the business facts and agreed enquiry route.

  4. 4
    Approve the move.

We publish after your approval and the domain steps are ready. Keep control of your domain and existing email. Complex migrations or integrations may need a separate scope.

Common concerns

Agree email, search and scope before the rebuild.

If you’re worried about your email, existing search traffic or what the price covers, raise it at the start. Those answers belong in the plan before the rebuild begins.

Will my email stop working?

A new website does not require you to surrender your domain or existing email. We review the current setup before proposing any connection change. The exact steps depend on how your services are configured.

Will I keep my Google rankings?

No one can promise that. Changing URLs or content can affect visibility. Mapping relevant old URLs, checking redirects and monitoring Search Console after launch are sensible ways to manage the risk.

What will my redesign include?

We agree a website of up to 25 pages, with planning, writing, original design, development and 2 refinement rounds. Ecommerce, bespoke software, major brand work and complex integrations need separate scoping. Optional hosting is arranged separately at launch.

Leaving a builder? Plan what moves.

Moving from WordPress, Wix, Squarespace or Webflow takes more than recreating the pages. Each has different export options, and your forms, bookings or publishing may rely on the platform too. We’ll help identify what needs to move and what needs a replacement.
