Meet our family landscaping team.

Alasdair, Euan and Callum MacRae.
Father and sons. Different skills. One team.

We set up Highland Landscaping together in Beauly, bringing design, practical construction and planting into one family business.

The MacRae family: Alasdair with his sons Euan and Callum in a Highland garden

Alasdair MacRae

Build & stonework

Alasdair is the practical head behind the construction. He thinks about how the garden goes together, from the preparation below a path to the finish on a stone edge.

He brings a straightforward approach to the work: understand the ground, choose the right method and take care with the detail.

Euan MacRae

Design & site planning

Euan turns the first conversation into a workable garden plan. He looks at how the space is used, how it connects to the house and how the different parts fit together.

He helps you work through layout, materials, priorities and budget before the construction starts.

Callum MacRae

Planting & garden care

Callum takes care of the growing side of the garden. He considers the site conditions, planting structure and the work needed as a garden establishes.

From a new border to seasonal maintenance, he keeps the care practical and suited to the plants in front of him.

A proper conversation.
A shared understanding.

We want you to know who is doing the work and what has been agreed. That starts with listening and carries through to the final walk around the garden.

Aye, we care about how it looks. We also care that you can get to the shed, move the mower and sit comfortably at the table.

We explain the choices

Materials, layout and planting come with practical considerations. We discuss them so you can make informed decisions.

We put the scope in writing

The agreed work, materials and price are recorded before the job starts. Changes are discussed before they become extra work.

We think about the years ahead

Space for plants to mature, sensible access and an achievable level of care are part of the design conversation.

A Beauly cottage garden with a curved lawn, stone paving, wooden chairs and mixed borders

Based in Beauly.
At home in the Highlands.

We work across Beauly, Inverness, Muir of Ord, Dingwall and the Black Isle. Further Highland projects are considered individually.

Exposure, rain, frost and varied ground are familiar considerations here. We look at the actual conditions of your garden, then decide what the work needs.

Discuss your location
